Nine identifiers every new EU company needs.

1. 01

   VAT identification

   Used on invoices across the Union. Format and check digits follow each member state’s VIES rules.

2. 02

   Company register

   The national trade-register number. The legal existence of the entity.

3. 03

   European Unique Identifier

   The BRIS identifier that lets other member-state registers find this company.

4. 04

   EORI

   Economic Operators Registration and Identification — required for customs declarations.

5. 05

   National tax ID

   The domestic tax file used by the national revenue authority, distinct from VAT in several states.

6. 06

   Employer social number

   The account used to pay social insurance and payroll contributions for staff.

7. 07

   Legal Entity Identifier

   ISO 17442 code used in financial markets and some banking onboarding.

8. 08

   NACE activity

   The statistical classification of the company’s principal economic activity.

9. 09

   Beneficial owners

   The national register reference for the people who ultimately own or control the company.
